School Accountability Committee
We are seeking volunteers to be part of SHS's School Accountability Committee (SAC). The purpose of the SAC is to inform, encourage and provide opportunities for parent and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school's instructional program and quality improvement processes. We will have four meetings during the school year in the SHS Library from 5:30-6:30. Reach out to Principal Jesse Hull with any questions.

Make a Donation
Salida Schools’ students have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of athletics and activities based on sponsor availability and student interest. Sports programs include: Football, Volleyball, Cross Country, Boys Soccer, Boys Golf, Cheer, Mountain Biking, Wrestling, Boys & Girls Basketball, Girls Swimming, Track, Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, Baseball, and Girls Golf. Performing arts include music programs and theatre productions. Other opportunities are student council, knowledge bowl, The Tenderfoot Times, and yearbook. Clubs are currently offered during the week and might include chess, intramural sports, learning new instruments, disc golf, arts & crafts, and more. The District also has a very active visual arts program that many students participate in.
Donations can be made directly to a specific school, sports team, or activity of your choice, and can be mailed to or dropped off at Salida High School, Attn: Activities Assistant, 26 Jones Ave, Salida, CO 81201. Both cash and check are accepted. Checks can be made out to the group of your choice, for example “SHS Girls Basketball” or “SMS Band”, or to a specific school, such as Longfellow Elementary School. Teams and groups will also conduct fundraising activities to support their program. If you want to confirm that a fundraiser is approved by the District, please call the Activities Assistant at 719-530-5406 with any questions.
Shavano Academic Booster Club
The purpose of the Shavano Academic Booster Club is to recognize students who exhibit outstanding academic effort and individual achievements. Awards include plaques and gifts from local businesses, recognition in the newspaper, and pictures in local businesses. The SABC also provides college scholarships for graduation seniors, and grants for teachers to help enhance educational opportunities. All of this is made possible because of the support of school district employees, parents, and friends in the community. Salida Spartan Athletic Booster Club
The purpose of the Salida Spartan Athletic Booster Club is to celebrate and support all high school Spartan athletes and coaches. The Salida Spartan Athletic Booster Club strives to maintain community and school involvement through events such as the homecoming bonfire and tailgate party, and annual scholarships. The sale of Spartan merchandise and signs displayed in yards and in businesses promotes Spartan Purple Pride and shows student athletes they have a lot of fans behind them. The SSABC also provides scholarships opportunities for Spartan athletes. SSABC offers business and family memberships, and donations can be mailed to PO Box 25, Salida, CO 81201.
