The community of Salida stands out as an education community.  When others were struggling with school finances the community gathered together to ensure that education would not only survive in Salida, but would thrive.  In 2012 the community opened two new buildings–Salida High School and the historic 1922 Kesner building.  Now the community is designing a new elementary facility to replace the aging Longfellow Elementary School.  What a community to live in.
