SALIDA, COLORADO – The Salida School District completed an emergency DRILL on Thursday, August 31st, 2017. The emergency DRILL took place in the Salida High School and involved staff, student volunteers, Solvista Health, emergency services, Heart of the Rockies Regional Medical Center, and law enforcement. Response was timely and efficient. Law enforcement cleared the school of threat and established safety. Students would have been relocated off site for parent pick up several hours afterwards should this have been an actual event. School district staff participated in critical incident debrief with assistance from Solvista Health at reunification site. No injuries reported.
